Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer – Do you want to join a major engineering company, who specialise in defence and aerospace, as a Quality Engineer?

You will be joining our client’s site in Edinburgh in their Advanced Laser Designator business area which includes a range of programmes from applied research through to mainstream production.

Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer include:

• Undertake a range of specialist quality activities, provide advice on procedures and guidelines and make a proactive contribution to continuous improvement
• Contribute in delivering equipment and processes to specification and resolve problems and queries, possibly by managing others to achieve objectives
• Reporting, analysis and maintenance of quality failure incidences to closure
• Procurement and supplier interface assistance
• Auditing and reporting
• First Article Inspection and Product acceptance

Skills and experience required of Quality Engineer include:

• Preferably experienced in Governance and Regulatory Systems: AS9100 / ISO9001
• Be experienced in Continuous Improvement: Lean, Sigma, DMAIC
• Experience of working in a “complex” industry, such as Defence Electronics
• Able to demonstrate knowledge in applying Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification
